Kieran Butler is a versatile performer with over 18 years experience as a writer, singer, musician, songwriter, stand up comedian, actor and broadcaster. He has also produced a variety of comedy and musical shows at festivals in Australia and the UK. He has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe for the past 5 years. He has also toured extensively in Australia, Ireland, England, Scotland, Holland, Germany and Portugal.

In 2003 he toured his debut solo comedy show .07 Licence to Walk to both the Melbourne International Comedy and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, and released his debut comedy CD SemiProblematic.  He  returned to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2004 with a brand new stand up show; Cheaper than Chips. He also released his second comedy CD, Live in Ludlow which has now sold out of it"s original pressing.  

In 2005 he wrote, performed and produced Scotland 4 Australia 1. The show sold out at the 2005 Glasgow Comedy Festival and the 2005 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He has also performed the revolutionary show "Che Guevara on the Fringe 1 & 2" at the 2005 and 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. 

Kieran's comedy song 'Buckfast' was released live on an unsuspecting public on the same day it was written in August 2004. A recorded version hit the airwaves later that year to rave reviews ('Hilarious... very catchy... compares well to anything else in the charts' - *** Noise Magazine)  and was made into a fully fledged video clip in 2005. The clip has since become a cult hit at You Tube and averages of 300 hits a week. You can watch it here

He has worked regularly with Fred MacAuley on MacAuley & Co (BBC Scotland); and appeared on radio and television numerous times in both the UK and Australia including Beat 106, 3LO, 3MMM, 3RRR, 6PR, 3SEN, Sport 927, MIX FM (SA), XFM (UK) Fishin" Trip and Channel 31. He is regular contributor to 'The Social Club' (SEN, Melbourne) 

In 2006 & 2007 Kieran"s solo comedy show "Kieran Butler claims Collingwood ruined my Life" was performed to sold out audiences and critical acclaim in Melbourne, Adelaide & Brisbane.

Kieran is also an accomplished guitarist, singer and songwriter. He has performed as a soloist/lead singer/guitarist, in Australia, Asia, Europe and the UK. In 2003 he released his debut original CD Insane in London. Insane in London was recorded with the assistance of members of popular Melbourne Celtic rock band The Mulligans. WHIMSICAL TRICYCLE

Kieran is a currently a member of original folk duo Whimsical Tricycle that features the talents of violinist Michelle Wilson. Whimsical Tricycle have previously performed as "Kieran Butler & Michelle Wilson". Their debut original CD Kismet was recorded in Germany and Australia. The CD was released in conjunction with their 2004 Edinburgh Festival Fringe stage show Kismet: a reality musical; a blend of original songs and stories. The show received a three star review in The Herald and five star reviews from audience members. Kieran and Michelle subsequently toured the show around Scotland, Germany and Portugal in 2005. 

Their CD Kismet was re-released in 2006 and features 5 brand new songs plus a new version of Insane in London. Kismet has now sold over 300 copies.

Whimsical Tricycle returned to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2006 to critical acclaim for their new show. The show has since been performed at the 2007 Adelaide Fringe to further widespread critical acclaim.
